Crude oils mixtures: compatibility and kinetics of water-in-oil emulsions separation

چکیده
Some oil fields produce from different reservoirs, which may be incompatible generating precipitates. These precipitates are often asphaltenes, can an emulsion stabilizing agent negatively affecting the treatment processes. In this work, influence of incompatibility on stabilization water-in-oil emulsions was studied. Emulsions were evaluated three oils (A, B and C) their mixtures (AB, AC, BC ABC). The results showed that there is a relationship between separation kinetics asphaltene precipitation. faster for more compatible oils. We observed A, less stable regarding ABC mixture, most both presented slowest separation. On other hand, mixture had highest compatibility among kinetic

Optimization of Demulsifier Formulation for Separation of Water from Crude Oil Emulsions
In this study, various water-soluble and oil-soluble demulsifiers were selected for separation of water from crude oil emulsions and their productivity measured using the Bottle-test method at 70 °C and 10 ppm concentration. The best ones among 23 demulsifiers examined through the screening process were fatty alcohol ethoxylate, triethanol amine and urea from the water-soluble group and Basoror...

متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
A Facile and Effective Method to Fabricate Superhydrophobic/Superoeophilic Surface for the Separation of Both Water/Oil Mixtures and Water-in-Oil Emulsions
Superhydrophobic/superoleophilic surfaces (water contact angle greater than 150◦ with low hysteresis, with an oil contact angle smaller than 5◦) have a wide-range of applications in oil/water separation. However, most of the essential methods to fabricate this kind of surface are complex, inflexible, and costly. Moreover, most methods focus on separating immiscible oil and water mixtures but la...
